Welcome to the 2026 SCWTCA Roving Specialty in Orange County, CA
SCWTCA appreciates all its donors to the Roving Specialty Fund. Many people donate to the Roving Trophy Fund, some buy a fundraiser to show their support and others make a direct donation to the SCWTCA at the top of this page. We appreciate any financial support that you can give the Roving specialty. Watch for a list of donors on the website and in Benchmarks.
Every two years SCWTCA Inc. hosts a Roving National Specialty. In 2026 the Roving specialty will be hosted by the SCWT Club of Southern California. At the national specialty supporters of the breed gather to share their knowledge and passion, and to bring their best Wheatens to compete. SCWTCA has had Roving specialties in many states, such as Kentucky, Missouri, Arizona, Illinois etc.
Roving Specialty shows are important for many reasons. It allows breeders of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier to gather in a place other than Pennsylvania for a national dog show and meet people that they don't have a chance to see very often. They can compete in a dog show with larger entries, attend education events offered by SCWTCA, evaluate breeding stock, make new friends and compete in performance events.
The main goal of a SCWTCA National Specialty is to support breeders and members in a different region. Conformation is taken very seriously at the SCWTCA National Specialties because the event(s) are a chance to look at the state of the breed and where it’s going.
