Qualifications

The Wheaten Terrier Ambassador Award is presented to the Wheaten Terrier that has made a difference in its community through service work, which may include pet therapy, search/rescue, exceptional fundraising, and other activities to better people that are in need.

Dedication, passion, and commitment are the integral values we seek for recipients receiving this award. Therapy dog and other titles are not required.

The Wheaten Terrier Ambassador Award is offered annually by the SCWTCA and sponsored by Dorice and Mark Stancher in memory of “Duffy” (Holweit's Stancher CD, RA, CGC), who received the NJVMA award, an AKC ACE Award, and was an outstanding therapy dog. The award is presented to the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier that best meets the criteria for this award as selected by a committee and is presented at the SCWTCA Annual Dinner held in conjunction with the National Specialty.

Share the story of the work you are doing with your Wheaten Terrier in your community. Applications may include the following:

• Special training and therapy dog certification

• Supporting documentation and photos

• Fundraising activities

• Participation in new ventures including AKC performance events or outdoor activities exhibiting a zest for life

• Anything else that better tells your story.
