National Specialty BOB Gallery: 1973-Today
In 1973, the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier was admitted to the Terrier Group and Annie took the breed at the prestigious Montgomery County Kennel Club (MCKC). When SCWTCA hosted its first Specialty at the same show a few years later, Ryan became our first MCKC Specialty winner. Days of massive rainfall led to a memorable 1999 Montgomery mud-fest, but nothing could stop Brett from going Best of Breed as a Veteran. Weather may be snowy, rainy, sunny, bitter cold, or hot as h#@!, but Wheaten exhibitors show up every time — excited, nervous, and always hopeful. But the dogs, yes, the dogs are the reason for this yearly gathering, this fabulous showcase. Breeders, exhibitors and fanciers come from near and far to celebrate the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Taste a bit of Wheaten history as you peruse photos of Montgomery breed winners over the years.
