Whether you are exhibiting, competing in performance events, attending our educational programs, evaluating potential stud dogs, reconnecting with friends, or experiencing the excitement of Montgomery week, we hope you will enjoy every moment as we come together to honor the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and the breeders and owners who make this breed and club special.

Agility showcases the incredible partnership between dogs and their handlers. Come and watch and have lunch in Hershey PA at the Montgomery Terrier Agility Cluster, with today's events hosted by the Scottish Terrier Club of America. Be sure to visit the SCWT "Village" which will be decorated for the “250 Years of USA" Breed Village competition.

Wednesday, September 30, 2026: Agility continues at In The Net. The excitement continues as agility competitors take to the ring for another day of fast-paced action, hosted today by the American Cesky Terrier Fanciers Association. Come and visit and introduce yourself to the competitors. Come to the Hotel Hershey for lunch and -- a nice escape after a long drive or grooming dogs.

Time for conformation exhibitors to take the ring as the Montgomery weekend of shows begins! Join fellow Wheaten enthusiasts at the DVSCWTC Supported Entry and the Hatboro All Breed Dog Show.
For many exhibitors, this is the day they have been working toward all year. Years of breeding decisions, months of conditioning and grooming and countless hours spent preparing their dogs all lead to this moment, this weekend.

Breeder Education Montgomery Edition—You won’t want to miss this!!
Our guest speaker is near and dear to the breed, and the session will offer a historical perspective on Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier (SCWT) type within the United States before genetic testing and our familiarity with the internet!
Gary Vlachos (Brenmoor) will share the processes he and many other breeders used in establishing their breeding programs. Among other things, Gary will review the major influences that contributed to Brenmoor type.
Hatboro Dog Show - Delaware Valley SCWT Club 55th Anniversary Specialty - October 2nd, Macungie PA
Established in 1971 the Delaware Valley SCWT Club is ready for their 2026 specialty! Exhibitors arrive on day two of Hatboro, most have been grooming all night, visiting with friends and gearing up. They are excited and hopeful as they present their Wheatens that they have carefully prepared. Win or lose, every dog in the ring represents dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to preserving the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier for future generations. It's a once in a year opportunity to go shopping for some great Wheaten finds made by talented owners and lovers of the breed. Since many of the tables benefit our clubs and groups like National Rescue and the SCWT Endowment, you can do good with your purchases. Be there on time to not miss out. You can stick around after shopping for the Annual Dinner (reservations required) and to applaud our Annual Awards winners.

SCWTCA National Specialty Sweepstakes 2026! Sweepstakes offers a special opportunity to celebrate the future of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Open to puppies and young adults, this event showcases promising young dogs as they begin their show careers. Breeders, owners, and spectators alike enjoy the chance to watch the next generation of Wheatens enter the ring, displaying the qualities that make our breed so beloved. While no championship points are awarded, Sweepstakes provides an opportunity to recognize young dogs with exceptional potential and to celebrate the dedication of the breeders and owners who have nurtured them.

This is the day! For more than fifty years, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier fanciers have made the pilgrimage to Montgomery County, PA. Our breed was first welcomed to Montgomery County Kennel Club competition in 1973, and our first National Specialty followed in 1975. Since then, generations of breeders, exhibitors, and owners have gathered here to celebrate the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and its place among the Terrier breeds.
No one knows quite what the day will hold. Be sure to check the weather because the sun may shine, and the rain or snow may fall...all in the same day!.. and the rings may be dusty or muddy. It doesn’t really matter. Exhibitors arrive exhausted, excited, hopeful, worried, and proud, knowing they are part of tradition far greater than any one dog or any one win. Another chapter will be added to the history of our breed.
